Pandabomb Media is a videography and photography company in Cape Town, South Africa that started in 2016 when Calvin Fisher, the founder, found himself out of a job when his magazine closed. Rather than get moved around within the media company that he was working for at the time, he decided to start his own business – and Pandabomb was born. 

Why “Pandabomb” I hear you ask? 

Well, for reasons that we won’t go into here, Calvin has always been called “panda” and he decided to ask his kids what his new business should be called. One of them suggested Pandabomb and that really is simply how the name was born.

    Having known Calvin way before Pandabomb was born, I had no doubt of his capabilities in delivering top quality work.     I have known Calvin Fisher since 2006 as motoring journalist, deputy editor and finally as editor of one of South Africa’s leading automotive titles. Always one with a learning, entrepreneurial and creative spirit, Calvin soon turned a photography and content creation hobby into a business. Nissan Group of Africa acquired Calvin’s service at numerous events and product launches. This included product and event photography. Calvin never disappointed, in fact he excelled and we recommended his service to other departments and external contacts. At Nissan events, such as the Simola Hill Climb, Festival of Motoring or Nissan specific events, Calvin integrates with the Nissan team seamlessly and becomes a multi-tasking team member. He easily puts down the camera and joins the logistics team albeit it as driver or car washer. Calvin’s cost structure is competitive and realistic, he does not see a budget as a target, but would rather save where he can, but would never compromise quality or his reputation. At times where I could not be somewhere in person, I could rest assured that Calvin is an extension of my arm. His excellent people skills ensures that he can comfortably interact at grassroots and executive level, both with internal and external stakeholders from all nationalities. Apart from my South African colleagues and principals, Calvin also interacted without any difficulty with colleagues and principals from around the world. Calvin Fisher and the Pandabomb team are key members of my team when it comes to successful event and product photography, social media content and production.

Calvin is a videographer and photographer based in Cape Town, South Africa. 

Having started scribing in the motoring realm some 15 years ago within the car culture sector, Calvin hit the big time when he was promoted to deputy editor of Top Gear South Africa and editor of Top Car before digital killed the magazine star. His talents include videography, photography, writing, drifting his Toyota Supra and playing Apex Legends on PS5.
